Abraham Licoln Slideshow

I thought the Abraham Licoln Slide Show was a great way to introduce the different options within Google Docs. I had no idea that creating a slideshow as a class was a possibility within this program. I probably would not use this in my class, but I can see how this would be a great team project with older students.

Scavenger Hunt

Again for me the "Scavenger Hunt"did not apply to my kindergarten students. Although, I did feel that the Discovery Puzzle Maker did. I chose to create a word search using high frequency words we are learning in class. I created a puzzle where the students can hunt for six words within a puzzle with 15 rows of letters.
I like that I can create different puzzles for the different levels of students in my class. For my low students I would use a much smaller puzzle with only three words to find.

Stock Market Exchange

I of course would never use this program in my class, but it is a fun game to play between our Lesley class. I didn't spend a lot of time choosing stocks I was interested in... but I still hope I win!

Picture Slide Show using WMV

I chose to create a picture slide show using Windows Movie Maker. In our last class we were assigned to create a picture slide show using the software PhotoStory and I wanted to see the differences in the programs. After using both of them I will use Windows in the future to create any slide shows I choose to do. I like the option of putting both pictures and video and I also think manipulating the program was much easier. If I get into a hurry and need a slide show quick I will choose Photo Story. The program basically creates a slideshow for you within seconds. They both are good programs but again for me I will stick with Windows Movie Maker.

4x2 Website

I like knowing how to create my own website. It is a neat option in creating an email for my class. I will probably choose to use blogger, but both websites are good. The formatting was hard to figure out at first, but after playing around in the program it became easier.

Movie Clips on YouTube

I found this assignment very helpful. I know pulling off YouTube videos and editing clips will help me in my classroom and at home. An example in my classroom would be when we read the book Polar Bear Polar Bear. In the book it talks about what different animals make. A lot of the students have not heard the noises that flamingos, zebras, or walruses make. Because YouTube is blocked through our school district, I would not be able to pull up each clip of these animals making their different sounds. Now, I will be able to find small clips of these animals making their noises and merge them into one movie. As we read the book, we will listen to each animal make their sounds.

Mapping America Worksheet

Mapping America Worksheet was a great activity to learn how to explore google documents. I would use this particular activity when teaching my "Map" unit. I like that the students can quickly learn the demographics about the town they live in.

Weather Underground

I liked being able to create a graph using google docs. I would not let my kindergarters use this program but I would like to use it to show parents where their children stand compared to the rest of the class.

This was my original picture

These are my four pictures I edited while using the befunky website.

After editing this picture, I added text and a border using webresizer.
I have a passion for photography and would love to use this program with my photos from home, or any presentation I do for my students. I would have my students use KidPix rather then a photo editor because of their age. I feel there would be fewer choices for them to choose from, and it will be an easier website for them to manipulate.

Wikipedia Changes

I added "home decor" to the list of Disney Princess supplies.

I deleted a few comments on the Mormonism site in simple english.

Wikipedia Comparrison

I reaserched volleyball on both the Wikipedia site and on the Britanica website. In Wikipedia, there is 40 pages of informtion explaining each part of the game of volleyball. Wikipedia explains in depth the history of volleyball, each of the rules, and the origin of the court. Britanica only has one paragraph explaining a simple definition about the sport of volleyball. It does not talk about the history or any of the rules.
