Classroom Website

I enjoyed creating my classroom website after I got the jist of how the google sites program worked. For the first few hours of working with Google sites I was getting extremley frusterated but when I figured out to manipulate it using my style I quite enjoyed using it. I am excited to be able to have this website as a communication and resource for parents. I feel like it will be easier on me and easier on them.

Abraham Licoln Slideshow

I thought the Abraham Licoln Slide Show was a great way to introduce the different options within Google Docs. I had no idea that creating a slideshow as a class was a possibility within this program. I probably would not use this in my class, but I can see how this would be a great team project with older students.

Scavenger Hunt

Again for me the "Scavenger Hunt"did not apply to my kindergarten students. Although, I did feel that the Discovery Puzzle Maker did. I chose to create a word search using high frequency words we are learning in class. I created a puzzle where the students can hunt for six words within a puzzle with 15 rows of letters.
I like that I can create different puzzles for the different levels of students in my class. For my low students I would use a much smaller puzzle with only three words to find.

Stock Market Exchange

I of course would never use this program in my class, but it is a fun game to play between our Lesley class. I didn't spend a lot of time choosing stocks I was interested in... but I still hope I win!

Picture Slide Show using WMV

I chose to create a picture slide show using Windows Movie Maker. In our last class we were assigned to create a picture slide show using the software PhotoStory and I wanted to see the differences in the programs. After using both of them I will use Windows in the future to create any slide shows I choose to do. I like the option of putting both pictures and video and I also think manipulating the program was much easier. If I get into a hurry and need a slide show quick I will choose Photo Story. The program basically creates a slideshow for you within seconds. They both are good programs but again for me I will stick with Windows Movie Maker.

4x2 Website

I like knowing how to create my own website. It is a neat option in creating an email for my class. I will probably choose to use blogger, but both websites are good. The formatting was hard to figure out at first, but after playing around in the program it became easier.
